Do you want to know how to change the DNS of a domain? Do you need to modify the DNS of your domain extension from Sered? In this guide, we will show you how to easily modify the NameServers of your domain name in just a few minutes.
What are DNS servers?
DNS servers are computer devices that use special software to communicate with each other through very specific protocols. They can store databases of hostnames associated with public IP addresses. The abbreviation DNS stands for Domain Name System.
How was the DNS system created?
This system was created to support email communication on the Advanced Research Projects Agency Network (ARPANET). ARPANET was an intergovernmental network created on behalf of the United States Department of Defense. Over the years, ARPANET evolved into what we now know as the Internet.
In the mid-1980s, the protocols that formed today’s DNS system were defined. But it was in the 1990s when DNS experienced its greatest boom among Internet users.
It was created in 1983 by the American computer scientist Paul Mockapetris, born in 1948 in Boston, Massachusetts.
A system developed by Paul Mockapetris allowed hierarchical names to be assigned to numerical IP addresses using easy-to-remember names. This method enabled communication between users and the different websites we want to visit.
How is DNS assigned to a domain?
Normally, DNS can be configured or modified from the client area. The changes made do not take effect immediately.
These changes on domains take time before they appear online. This is called DNS propagation, and it corresponds to the time required for the expected response to DNS changes on the Internet.
This delay is usually around 2 hours, except for .es TLD domains (managed by nic.es), which may take a little longer.
