How to create Glue Records from Sered in a few seconds?

Updated yesterday

What is Glue Records and what is it used for?

A Glue Records is a DNS record that allows you to add an IP address to a subdomain so that you can use it as a DNS server name.

A Glue Records is used when you want to use your cloud server as a DNS server. Therefore, this type of DNS A record ensures the correct resolution of the DNS server's IP address.

For example, if you want to use your service provider's name servers, you must create two subdomains that perform this function:

ns1.mydomain.com

ns2.mydomain.com

In addition, the connection records that are created require DNS, that is, the Domain Name System, to know where the name servers of your domain name point to.

Otherwise, whenever someone tries to access mydomain.com, the DNS will not know where to look for the IP address because the main domain must be available first to access the subdomain. Without a fixed record, the resolution of the IP address becomes an infinite loop.

Finally, a window will open where you can start creating the Glue Records.

From there, you will find the following three options:

  • Register a NameServer name.

  • Modify NameServer IP.

  • Delete a NameServer.

Simply add the domain name where you want to make the registration.

For example: dns1.mydomain.com. And that's it!

Then, it is very important that you create the A record in the DNS server or from your client area for everything to work correctly.
