How to Change the DNS of My Domain in Antel

Updated today

To change the DNS (Domain Name Servers) of your domain in Uruguay through Antel generally involves performing a few key steps. Antel is one of the main Internet service providers in Uruguay, and if you want to change the DNS of your domain hosted with them, follow these general steps:

Step 1: Access Your Antel Account:
Log in to your Antel account through https://nic.com.uy/.

Step 2: Once you have logged in, go to the “Manage” section and then “My Domains”.

Step 3: A list of your domains will appear; you must click “View” so that the DNS configuration options appear.

Once you are in the configuration options, you will have a section that may differ according to two circumstances:

First Circumstance: When it is a new domain that has never been hosted on any server, it will allow you to “Delegate” the domain and set DNS for the first time.

So you have to click the “Delegate” button.

Then a modal will appear to set the DNS:

The DNS you have to enter in this section are the following:

dns1.sered.net
dns2.sered.net
dns3.sered.net
dns4.sered.net

Then click the “Delegate domain” button, and with that, our DNS will already be assigned.

Second Circumstance: When the domain already has DNS from another provider and you need to update them and set new ones.

In that case, the DNS currently assigned to the domain will appear and you must click “Edit” and set our DNS:

You will again see the modal to enter the DNS:

(Keep in mind that in this step you must edit the DNS one by one.)

Once you have entered the respective DNS, you only need to wait a period of 24-48 hours for the DNS to propagate and the domain will be ready to use.
