Do you want to install WordPress on your subdomain? Do you need to install your WordPress CMS on your new subdomain?
In this guide, we show you how to install WordPress on a subdomain, so you can have multiple websites hosted on your hosting using just one domain.
How to install WordPress on a subdomain?
Below, we indicate step by step how to install WordPress on a subdomain.
Access the Sered Customer Area
First, you must go to the Customer Area of Sered.net with the corresponding username and password for your client account.
Access the cPanel control panel
Next, you must click on the “ENTER CPANEL” button.
Find the "APPLICATIONS" section from cPanel
It is very important to note that it is necessary to install WordPress on your web hosting plan. To do this, you must select the WordPress application directly to start the process.
As in Sered, we have the cPanel control panel, so you just have to go to the “APPLICATIONS” section, and find the “WORDPRESS” tool to click on it.
Afterwards, a new window called “INSTALLATRON” will open, in which you must find the “INSTALL THIS APPLICATION” button, which is located to the right of your screen.
Fill out the WordPress installation form
In this same section, Installatron will display an “INSTALLATION FORM”, in which you will configure the WordPress installation path. From there, you can install WordPress directly on the subdomain or specify a directory. Generally, it is not convenient to install WordPress in a subdirectory, so we recommend leaving it blank.
Configure the WordPress application
One of the most important aspects when installing a WordPress site is to create our username and password. It is important to avoid using usernames like “admin”, as this can allow unwanted people to access your website.
In addition, you must be careful with your password. Do not use simple passwords like “12345”.
WordPress offers the possibility of generating a secure key so that you don't have to worry. It is important to keep the username and password in a safe place so you don't forget them.
Add name and description to the WordPress installation
Next, a name is given to the website, in addition to adding a brief description. If you haven't thought about what to put yet, don't worry. These changes can be made later directly from the WordPress administration panel.
Finish the installation of WordPress on the subdomain
After completing the entire process, you must click on the “INSTALL” button located at the bottom of the form. Wait until the process is complete and WordPress is installed on your subdomain.
If you already know which template you will use on your website, you can choose and download it right there. If you are not sure and want to explore more, you can research the one that best suits your website. Also, you can edit this theme directly from the WordPress admin panel.
NOTE: If the domain has CloudFlare DNS, in addition to creating the subdomain, you must edit the configuration by adding the entry.
As you can see, installing WordPress on a subdomain is not difficult and you can do it in a few steps. The difference it has with the installation of a main domain is that you must first create a subdomain, and then select it to install the application.
