How to transfer a website to Sered?
Below, we will show you the steps you need to follow to transfer your website easily to Sered.
Access the Customer Area at Sered
First, you must access the Customer Area at Sered.net using your email account and your password that you used previously to register on our website.
Access the cPanel panel
Once inside, you must look for “ENTER CPANEL” to access the cPanel control panel.
Find the "Installatron Applications Installer" tool
Next, you must go to the “SOFTWARE” section, where you will see the “INSTALLATRON APPLICATIONS INSTALLER” tool. Installatron allows you to import a complete website to Sered, simply by providing the FTP data from the old web hosting company.
Go to "Applications Browser"
Then, click on “APPLICATIONS BROWSER”, where you must select the application that is currently running on the other hosting provider.
Afterwards, a window will open with a list of applications, in which you have to look for the “WORDPRESS” application and click on it.
Import the Installation from Installatron
To migrate your WordPress website, you just have to click on the dropdown list that is on the right side of “INSTALL THIS APPLICATION”, and then click on the option “IMPORT EXISTING INSTALLATION”.
Subsequently, you must select the location of the WordPress import in Installatron. In this case, it would be choosing the section “FROM A DIFFERENT ACCOUNT”, and then clicking on the bottom button “CONTINUE”.
Configure the WordPress import
In the following form provided by the Installatron application, you must fill in with the data of your website (FTP access from your old provider, which is sent in the same welcome email when you contracted the service) and where you want to transfer your website.
Origin
Next, you can see that this form is divided into two sections. The first one is the “ORIGIN” which refers to where the installation is located. To fill it out, you need to provide the following data:
Enter the domain where your website is located. If it's in the root, you just need to put: https://www.mywebsite.com
Enter the hosting IP if you have one. This data is usually provided in the welcome email of the product.
Select the FTP protocol type. Usually, it's FTP.
IP or FTP host.
FTP username.
FTP password.
Directory where your website is located. If it's in the root, it's usually “public_html”. In this case, it's /blog. Therefore, it's in “public_html/blog”.
Destination
In the second part of the form called “DESTINATION”, which is related to the final situation of the website import. You must complete it with the following data:
Enter the domain where you want to migrate your website.
Add the path. In this case, if your website is located at: https://www.pruebaweb.com/blog. Just put “blog”.
Leave this field as it is.
After completing all the steps, click on the “IMPORT” button at the bottom. This process is automatic and will notify you when it's finished.
