What is the Auth-Code of a domain?
The Auth-Code, also known as Auth-Info or EPP-Code, is a password provided by the registrar as a security measure when transferring a web domain. Without this code, the transfer cannot take place.
If a submission is processed with a code that does not match the domain name, it will fail as many times as it is processed. It is important to note that once the Auth-Code is entered, the domain owner must approve the registration change.
They only appear in domains with a domain extension such as: .COM, .NET, .ORG, .BIZ, .MOBI or .INFO. .ES domains do not have this authorization code.
How to obtain an EPP code for a domain?
Many web domain companies offer the possibility of obtaining an Auth-Code from the domain and web hosting control panel itself. In other situations, the code must be requested by phone, email, or fax.
To request this code from the Sered.net client area, you must follow these steps:
In the Customer Area, click on Domains and select My Domains.
Click on the "GEAR" icon located on the right next to other icons.
In the "GENERAL INFORMATION" window, you will see that you have a section called "MORE". You must click on this section to display a menu with the option "GET EPP CODE".
Next, a window called "GET EPP CODE" will open, where automatically, it will request your Auth-Code for your domain. This password will be provided to you through the "NOTIFICATIONS" section, as well as sent to the email you have on your customer profile at Sered.net.
What to do if the service provider does not allow transferring your domain?
If you find yourself in a situation where the domain company does not allow you to transfer the domain name, you must file a complaint with the ICANN administrator (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers), selecting "Transfer Problems".
Once you have entered the code, in addition to meeting all the requirements, you can request a domain name transfer.
