How to disable and delete automatic backups in Installatron?

Installatron provides you with the security of automatic backup copies to safeguard your website during updates or essential changes. However, these backups can take up space in your hosting. At Sered, we take care of your data by keeping daily backups for the last 7 days, stored externally. This article will guide you through disabling the automatic backup feature through Installatron.

  1. Access your cPanel.

  2. Go to the "Applications" section in the left side menu or go to the "Software" section within "Installatron Application Installer".

  3. Click on the Application you want to modify.

  4. Scroll down to the Updates section and look for "Automatic Backups". In this section, choose the option "Do not update **" or "Create backup" for all items.

    Automatic updates are useful when you don’t want to worry about manually updating your WordPress to the latest versions. There are many options with these settings and you can change them according to what works best for you.


    You can choose to update WordPress to any version, update to minor and security versions, or completely disable automatic updates. You can also choose to enable automatic updates for plugins and themes. The fourth option is whether or not you want Installatron to create a backup during the update and restore it if the update fails. We keep 7 days of external backups. If something happens during the update, you can always contact us to restore a backup.


    You can configure these settings to fit your specific installation only with themes and plugins or only with software updates, or simply disable them all. Just make sure to click on "Save All" so the changes are made.

    Note: you can always perform a manual backup if you want. Click on the right-pointing arrow next to the application you want to back up. It is more recommended to generate the backup manually than automatic ones and then delete them.


How to delete backups from Installatron?

  1. Access your cPanel.

  2. Go to the "Applications" section in the left side menu or go to the "Software" section within "Installatron Application Installer".

  3. Click on 'My Backups'

  4. Click on the 'X' to uninstall the backup.

  5. Click on 'Delete' to delete the backup.
